| Let's Start the New Year with Renewed Mind
in Realization of Child of God by Rev.

New Year's Day is the day to make our plans
for the year. Why don't you make your first
visit of New Year's Day to Hozo Shrine (Uji
Temple) with your family where your ancestors
are enshrined and join the New Year Spiritual
Training Seminar?
It is the 15th New Year Spiritual Training
Seminar at Uji Temple - where the holy angels
descend from heaven. Almost 1,000 people
come to the seminar. Let's start the New
Year by deepening our realization of child
of God and practicing Shinsokan meditation
at Hozo Shrine (Main Temple) to make our
plans for the year with prayer.
On September 11, 2001, the terrorist attacks
in the United States gave whole world a great
shock. The repeatedly broadcasting pictures
were really pitiable as if they were movies.
What is this terrorism teaching us? Wouldn't
it be calling upon each of us to act something
concrete loving action?
Seicho-No-Ie Vice President Rev. Masanobu
Taniguchi pointed out the lack of expression
of love in his A Prayer for Love and Forgiveness
that "Living our lives concerned only
with the abundance and wealth of those immediately
around us, and forgetting about the suffering
and poverty of those far away brought about
this tremendous jealousy and hatred."

Also, Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi, founder of
Seicho-No-Ie, taught us in his book, "Shosetsu
Shinsokan"(Detailed Shinsokan) as follows:
"c in fact, to concentrate our enlightenment
thoughts on happiness for others or world
peace, etc., that is apart from an individual
profit for a half time of Shinsokan meditation,
it can also increase the happiness of oneself
in return. When each one's "thought"
is enlightened, the world is enlightened.
When we pray with enlightened thought for
a sick person, he will be healed. When we
fill the national land with enlightenment
thought, the national land will become peaceful."

He then explained about "A Prayer for
World Peace" as a concrete practice
of love. (ibid., p229) "No matter how
the situation of whole world looks miserable
and gloomy ahead of us, we humankind must
care for each other with loving and positive
words. The more and more positive thoughts
are emanated among humankind, the more quickly
the world of peaceful brotherhood of humankind
that already exists in the heaven will be
realized. There is nothing necessary but
to propagate positive love, enlightenment
and the words of brotherhood of humankind."
He advocated praying at one time all together.
There has never been the important time like
today when each one of us to learn the Truth
at Spiritual Training Seminar, to realize
a child of God that is love itself and to
practice "A Prayer for World Peace"
and act of love.
Rev. Haruo Shibuya, Special Ordained Minister,
former Bishop of Seicho-No-Ie Latin America
in Brazil, will give a lecture on January
2 and Rev. Yoshimitsu Tsuchiya, Ordained
Minister from International Headquarters
will give his lecture entitled "Return
from the Bladder Cancer" on New Year's
Day. Come and enjoy their joyful and heartwarming
