Ancestral Memorial Service

Thanks to our parents and ancestors we are here today upon this earth. We in Seicho-No-Ie are taught that we are the ones who chose our parents, not they us. We were drawn to our parents through the similarity of our vibrations or wavelengths. When we realize that we were born in this world with the help of our parents and our ancestors, we become sincerely grateful to them, and we offer our thanks to them. This is the spirit of the Ancestral Memorial Service.

Mind Purification Ceremony

The Mind Purification Ceremony is a unique Seicho-No-Ie exercise intended to eliminate negative thoughts and emotions, and at the same time introduce positive thoughts into the minds. It is a mind purification exercise and is a regular part of the Seicho-No-Ie Spiritual Training Seminar.

Shinsokan

Recently the power of the mind has become widely known and many miraculous things are being televised. A true religion, however, does not pursue miracles. A true religion practices the ordinary in an ordinary manner. (ommitted)

There is i
nfinite power in man. This is because man is God and Buddha, and a wonderful existence that will live on eternally even after the death of the body. We call this wonderful existence the "True Image." Knowing this truth, and knowing that we possess power, we are able to draw forth this power and also to enjoy doing so.

Shinsokan is the practice of recognizing the wonderfulness of this True Image. (From Shinsokan Is Wonderful, pp.ix - xi)
